Starting December 8th, Rocking Robins Maids will be collecting donations for our Christmas donation drive. Much like Thanksgiving many families are struggling to put food on the table. Many families are having to decide between a big family dinner, or some Christmas presents for their children. With your food donation they wouldn't have to choose. On the day of your home cleaning our house maids can pick up your donation. All we ask is that you leave a note telling us where it is so we don't forget it. We hope to donate 50 non-perishable foods and 20 pieces of winter clothes by the end of this year. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can celebrate Hanukkah. A holiday that lasts for 8 nights to commemorate how long the holy light burned. Hanukkah in Hebrew means dedication. The Tempe of Jerusalem was retaken by the Maccabees, a group of Jewish warriors. From the Greeks in the 2nd century in BCE. The eight-day holiday is to celebrate the rededication of the Tempe of Jerusalem. Hanukkah also known as the festival of lights is an eight-night display of dancing flames. Atop candles held in intricate menorahs, conveying warmth, comfort, and a miracle. Intricate means very complicated or detailed. A menorah is a candelabrum with eight branches used in Jewish worship at Hanukkah.
