Happy Veteran’s Day

Rocking Robins Maids is proud to honor our veteran clients this week for veterans day. All veterans get a 10% discount and this week we are getting the word out for veterans day. A veteran is someone who has served in the military. Get your veteran family member a gift card for a home cleaning this week. Show them you care by giving them the gift of a clean home. We are a cleaning company that cares for those who fought to keep are country safe. On this day Rocking Robins Maids stands united to respect our veterans. Clients of the past, present, and future. Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day that was celebrated on November 11. In honor of the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. A year after the end of World War I. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Armistice that ended World War I.
A day celebrated every anniversary. An armistice is an agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop fighting for a certain time also known as a truce. In 1945, World War II the idea to expand Armistice day to celebrate all veterans. Rather than the ones who died in World War I was proposed by veteran Raymond Weeks. Raymond Weeks led a delegation to General Dwight Eisenhower. A delegation is a body of delegates or representatives. A delegate is to send or authorize (someone) to do something as a representative. Raymond Weeks then organized the first Veterans Day celebration in Alabama 1945. And every year since until he died in 1985. In 1982 President Reagan honored Raymond Weeks with the Presidential Citizenship Medal. Elizabeth Dole named him the ‘Father of Veterans Day’. Eight and a half years after Raymond Week held the first Veterans Day. Ed Rees presented a bill to establish the holiday to Congress. President Eisenhower signed the bill into law. On May 26 1954 changing the holiday Armistice day to Veterans Day to show respect to all veterans in all wars. In the past, present, and or future wars on this day a veteran will always be honored though out the ages in our hearts. Although similar in theme Veteran Day and Memorial Day are commonly confused. Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives for our country. While Veterans Day is to honor all those who have served the country in war or peace dead or alive. Don’t spend this week cleaning. Spend the time with your family, by having Rocking Robins Maids clean your home for you. How to keep your home smelling fresh

Maid Service

Every home can smell. Rocking Robins Maids knows this and wants to help others know how to keep the smell down. Years of cleaning we have seen, heard, and used many methods to keep the smell down. The biggest places with the biggest smell is of course the trash can. Rocking Robins Maids takes out all trash as a part of the house cleaning. Taking the trash out once a week even if it’s not full helps keep the smell down. Washing the trash can, once every two weeks. Take the trash can outside and spray with the water hoes. This will help eliminate any thing stuck inside the can. Then take a wash cloth and dawn dish soap if the smell remains. Scented trash bags are can counter the bad trash smell. Refrigerators can often start to smell even if there is fresh food inside. This is because some things will leak onto the shelfs like moisture dripping off things. We offer fridge cleaning as an up grade. We can clean this for you. You should wipe the shelfs once a week and deep clean once every six months. Candles are a great way to make your home smell fresh and sometimes sweet. Essential oils are like candles. Instead of burning you put a few drops into water in a diffuser. Other ways to give your home a new smell are air freshers, plug ins, and incense. For plant lovers they already have natural air purifiers. They can mask cooking smells and unwanted odors in a cost-effective way. Plants can help cut the toxins in the air and improve the air quality. You can even have odors outside your home. These odors much like inside can be beat with plants like palm trees, peace lilies, and orchids. Keeping the moisture down can keep the mold and mildew down as well. Mold and mildew can cause bad odors and health risks for you and your animals. At Rocking Robins Maids we carry different brushes to scrub into the hard to reach areas. Between tiles mold will start to grow and turn color. Taking a small brush and ajax can do wonders for your bathroom. Making sure each room has proper ventilation to keep moisture down and bring fresh air to each room. You should limit the use of humidifiers and other appliances that create moisture. A dehumidifier will do this as well and help you keep your home in the ideal moisture levels of 30-50%. Airing out your home daily will rid your home of toxins, viruses, and bacteria. It will also save you money in the summer by cooling the home down. Garbage disposals can start to smell as well. Cleaning it once a week will help to avoid build-up of sludge and odor. All that’s left is a home cleaning to rid of the rest of the odors. Rocking Robins Maids is a cleaning company who wants to help. A cleaning company that can deep clean for you. Give us a call 8122269975 Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cleanings.

Dust has a huge impact on your health

Rocking Robins Maids

After years of cleaning homes and dust, We want to share our knowledge. Rocking Robins Maids in Paoli Indiana have become experts at dusting and housekeeping. Dust has a huge impact on your health, one you don’t even see. Our housekeepers want to help you stay healthy and clean, by telling you how dust affects your health.
Dust is a wide variety of organic and inorganic particles that can collect in your home. A person sheds 30,000 to 40,000 old skin cells every day. This makes up a part of the organic dust in your home. Inorganic dust consist of pet dander, rodent waste, paint particles, pollen, bacteria, viruses, plant, insect parts, heavy metals, cigarette smoke and flame retardants. Some of which are toxic and can cause lung disease. Dust mites are a microscopic living organisms who feed off the skin cells. Dust mites are found in places like your mattresses, bedding and sofas. Places where the most traffic is has the most skin cells. Dust can cause some people to develop an allergy. An allergy is when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance called an allergen. In some people, inhaling dust can cause flare-ups. Like atopic dermatitis and skin conditions like eczema. Dust can even trigger an asthma attack. Bacteria by-products in household dust are also known to trigger asthma. On windy days or during cleaning the exposure is high. The probability of having a asthma attack is higher. Dust left alone will start to coat every surface in your home. Dust can make your home look messy which can lead to an impact to your mental health. A dusty home can make you feel helpless, anxious, or overwhelmed. As a result, your senses will start working overtime, which can cause stress. Our cleaning service can dust to reduce your stress levels. You can play some music and start dusting. You will start to feel less stress when your home is dust free. You should dust at least once a month for easy to reach areas like shelves, furniture, and light switches. Every three to six months you should dust hard to reach areas. Like ceilings, corners, door frames, and high shelves. With les dust your health will not suffer. You should be able to breath better and feel better.
Dusting from top to bottom. So when the dust falls you don’t have to reclean. Your dusting cloth should be damp not dry, be sure to use a dry swifter to knock dust and cobwebs. A dry cleaning cloth can scratch wooden surfaces. By dragging the dust along the surface over time. To be successful at capturing dust use a soft microfiber cloth. Dampened with warm water. The moisture pulls dust away rather than spreading it to a different spot. Another effective option, is to use furniture polish with a microfiber cloth. Which lubricates wood, lifts dust and leaves surfaces gleaming with a single wipe.
If you have asthma we recommended to wear a mask so the dust doesn’t trigger an attack. For those who don’t have time to clean your home you can call (812)226-9975 Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cleanings. We also can do one time cleaning for those who just need a head start.
