✨ Thanksgiving Cleaning Prep: Your Ultimate Checklist for a Guest-Ready Home in French Lick IN

A Warm Welcome Starts with a Clean Home

Thanksgiving is one of the most anticipated times of the year — full of family, laughter, and the smell of home-cooked favorites. But before the turkey hits the oven, there’s one essential task every host faces: getting your home ready for guests.

At Rocking Robins Maids LLC, we know a spotless home sets the stage for a relaxing, memorable holiday. Our Top-to-Bottom Deluxe Deep Cleaning in French Lick IN and recurring cleaning services in French Lick IN help homeowners transform their homes from everyday clean to holiday-ready perfection — without the last-minute stress.

Why Start Early?

If you wait until the week of Thanksgiving, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by cleaning, cooking, and decorating all at once. That’s why we always recommend starting your deep clean at least two weeks before guests arrive.

An early Top-to-Bottom Deep Cleaning clears away dust, buildup, and hidden grime so your home is fresh and stress-free when it matters most. Then, a quick recurring visit before Thanksgiving keeps everything shining.

✅ Your Thanksgiving Cleaning Checklist

Here’s our professional Rocking Robins checklist for preparing your home from top to bottom — the same process our team uses before every major holiday cleaning:

1️⃣ Entryway & Living Spaces

Dust light fixtures, ceiling fans, and vents
Wipe door frames, moldings, and baseboards
Polish wood furniture and décor surfaces
Vacuum and mop floors, focusing on high-traffic areas
Fluff pillows, tidy throws, and freshen upholstery

Pro Tip: Light a clean-scented candle or run a diffuser before guests arrive — it makes your home smell fresh without being overpowering.

2️⃣ Kitchen & Dining Room

Wipe cabinet fronts, counters, and backsplash
Clean inside microwave and around stove knobs
Polish stainless steel appliances for shine
Disinfect sinks and faucets
Vacuum and mop kitchen floors
Dust light fixtures and dining chairs

Pro Tip: Leave room in your refrigerator by tossing expired items — you’ll need the space for leftovers and pies!

3️⃣ Bathrooms Guests Will Use

Sanitize sinks, counters, toilets, and tubs
Polish mirrors and faucets
Wash hand towels and restock soap
Empty trash bins
Wipe doors, light switches, and baseboards

Pro Tip: Add a small holiday-scented candle or fresh hand lotion for a thoughtful touch.

4️⃣ Guest Bedrooms

Wash linens and pillowcases
Dust dressers, lamps, and window ledges
Vacuum and freshen rugs
Add a small water bottle or welcome note for guests

Pro Tip: A clean, simple guest space always makes visitors feel comfortable — even if they’re family.

5️⃣ Finishing Touches Before the Big Day

Sweep porch or entryway
Wipe down doors and glass
Empty wastebaskets throughout the home
Check lighting and replace dim bulbs
Give one final vacuum or mop

When the details are done, you’ll have the freedom to focus on what matters most — hosting and enjoying the moment.
